Infertility in a woman is defined as the inability to get pregnant after a year or more of trying or the inability to carry a pregnancy to full term.
It’s estimated that roughly 1 in 6 people will experience infertility at some point in their lifetime, and it’s important to note that it can affect men and women equally. In women, hormonal imbalances, such as luteal phase deficiency (LPD), are commonly linked to infertility. LPD occurs when the ovaries fail to release enough progesterone or the uterus lining is unresponsive to progesterone.
